On the basis of Linguistic and literary specialties, a philological faculty was established in these institutes, the first dean of which was appointed Doctor of Philology, Professor Baitanaev Bolat Abishevich. 1997-2004, Doctor of Philology, Professor B. M. Tleuberdiev, 2004-2005, PhD, Professor A. Zhapbarov, 2005-2006, PhD, Associate Professor A. T. Nazarbekova, 2006-2007, Doctor of Economics, Professor S. Zhakypbekov, 2007-2020 during the years of work, the dean of the faculty was Doctor of Physics, Professor B. M. Tleuberdiev.
Since 2020, the faculty has been headed by Ph.D., Associate Professor Abraham A. O. Today, the faculty consists of five departments: the Department of "Kazakh language and Literature", the Department of"Journalism and the Kazakh language", the Department of"Modern Languages and Translation Studies", the Department of"Foreign language for humanities", the department of"Russian language and literature". The faculty will train specialists in 19 educational programs in the areas of bachelor's, master's, doctoral studies.
The educational process at the Faculty of Philology is carried out by a highly qualified teaching staff, including experienced teachers whose work has been going on for more than forty years: Tleuberdiev B. M., Boranbayev S. R., Kalshabekov A. B., Alimkulov A. U., Miyatbekova Z. U. B. M. Kalymbetova, Z. Zh. Eralieva. We are proud of our veteran teachers who have worked at the faculty for many years and ardent students: Beketov B. M., Turmakhanova S. A., Yrsymbetova N.A., Abisheva A.M., Elchieva S. N., Arapova S. K., Kamalova S. K., F. B. Alimzhanova, G. A. Telgazieva, K. K. Asanbayeva.
The faculty has one of the richest libraries in the country, has computer classes, a language laboratory, a media library, Kazakh and Russian language classrooms equipped with audio-video equipment, 2 multimedia classrooms.
The Faculty of Philology is the center of organization and holding of international and republican scientific and theoretical conferences on topical issues of Kazakh, Russian and foreign philology.
Within the framework of scientific work, international relations have been established with universities in the USA, China, Spain, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and other countries.
Student conferences and republican contests of student scientific papers are held annually. The best student works are awarded with diplomas and diplomas of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The annual scientific conference of young scientists and students has become a tradition. To date, the number of graduates who have graduated from this faculty is about five thousand people.
Graduates of the faculty work in almost all educational institutions, periodicals, on television and radio, in publishing houses and foreign bureaus, manage the editorial offices of numerous republican, regional newspapers and magazines. For more than a quarter of a century, the doors of the faculty have been open to all lovers of language and literature, and those who graduated from it are proud of it.
Our faculty is developing very dynamically, successfully and at the same time preserves good traditions. We believe that the huge scientific potential and experience accumulated over many years, and the high professionalism of the teaching staff will lead our faculty to even greater achievements and achievements.
