General information:
The faculty of Philology is one of the oldest and the largest departments of M.Auezov South Kazakhstan University. The faculty possesses financial basis and didactic materials research pedagogical schools with innovative science and educational projects, which have highly qualified staff. From August, 2015 the faculty includes 5 chairs: “Kazakh language and literature”, “Modern Languages and Translation Studies”, “Russian language and literature”, “Foreign languages for humanitarian specialities” (general educational), “Journalism and Kazakh language” (general educational). The faculty of Philology is located in building №8 of SKU.
Programs:
The faculty trains experts of the international level according to the international standards of high school education and postgraduate education according to 3 levels: Bachelor – Master – Ph Doctor.

The goal of the faculty is to train highly qualified specialists for secondary schools, companies, local, governmental and international organizations and etc. The faculty trains students with new technologies of education, which has the richest libraries in the country, computer classes, lingo-phone classes, special rooms for Kazakh and Russian language teaching, which are equipped by audio and video devices, 2 multimedia rooms, 6 rooms with smart board and overhead projectors.
The faculty of philology is the center of organization and holding international and republican scientific theoretical conferences on actual issues of Kazakh, Russian and foreign philology.
Philological faculty holds international scientific cooperation with universities of the USA, China, Spain, Uzbekistan, Kirgizstan, Russia and other countries.
Students life:
Students of the faculty actively participate in scientific and social activities. The chairs of the faculty organize scientific circles and study groups for students. There is a regular literary society “Syrly soz”.
Student conferences, republican competitions of student scientific projects are held annually. The best projects of students are awarded by letters of honor and diplomas from the Ministry of Science and Education of RK. Scientific conferences become annual tradition of young scientists and students.

Our graduates work in many educational institutions, periodicals, on radio and TV channels, in publishing houses including foreign offices, are in head of republic and regional editorial staff.

Information-referent: secretary referent, commentator, expert, analyst;
Art-publicity: essayist, newspaper satirist, writer of political essays.
The philologist is trained to work as a secretary in charge, department manager, public connection consultant.

Studies of the compulsory subjects: modern Kazakh and Russian languages, history of the world literature, public speech, culture of speech, etc., studies of the special subjects and etc. Provided optional classes according to the field of study, special seminars and specialized classes.
