General information

The chair "Foreign Languages for Humanitarian Specialties" was formed according to the solution to order  №3/539 dated on  13.08.01 by decision of scientific council of SKSU named after M. Auezov in August 2001. The chair provides studying of a practical course of English and German languages for students of pedagogical and humanitarian specialties.

The chairof  "Foreign Languages for Humanitarian Specialties" was formed by Candidate of philological science Elchiyeva S.N, who made a huge contribution to formation of the chair.

Between 2012-2013 year the chair was managed by candidate of philological science Shoimanova M.B.

Between 2013-2015 years the chair was managed by candidate of philological science Shokhakhov I.S.

Between 2016-2017 years the chair was managed by Yemkulova Z.A.

Since 2017, the department is being managed by SuiyberdievaA.A.

Training in a foreign language in higher education institutions represents the independent and ended course having the contents and structure and is focused on achievement of the standard of the all-European competence on foreign languages accepted in the document "The modern languages: studying, training, assessment".

On chair annually held scientific conference for students of humanitarian and pedagogical specialties. Teachers of the chair together with a foreign reading room give classes of the circles "Discussion hour" and "Lingua" for students of university. It brings big benefit to the students dreaming to master a foreign language.

 

The academic staff of the chair consists of 26 teachers:

There are 4 candidates of science,

21 Masters,

3 senior teachers and 2 teachers.

 

 

All academic staff has basic education and lead teaching in two languages.

The chair uses new forms and methods in teaching languages and devotes great attention to speaking and writing. With the purpose of raising an effective teaching the educational programs and literature of Macmillan publishers, such as New Inside Out, Move, Straightforward, and Global are used at English lessons.

The chair systematically holds workshops with the teachers of secondary schools and higher educational institutes in regional and republic meaning in British Council center.

Teachers of the department were prepared by application of a research project on theme “Pedagogical conditions of formation of cognitive activity of students in the classroom of a foreign language” and submitted to the contest grant Ministry of education and science of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
