General information, history of the department

The Department of "Kazakh language and Literature" is one of the fundamental departments of the M. Auezov educational institution. The department was founded in 1996; its history is closely connected with the South Kazakhstan Humanitarian University. The department was called "Oriental Philology and Kazakh Literature", since the department, along with the Kazakh language and literature, included Uzbek language and literature, as well as Arabic. In 1998, the Institute of Chemical Technology, together with the South Kazakhstan Humanitarian University, was transformed into the South Kazakhstan University named after M. Auezov. Since this year, the departments of "Kazakh Linguistics" and "Kazakh Literature" worked as separate departments until 2014. In 2014, in order to optimize the work of the departments of "Kazakh Linguistics" and "Kazakh Literature", by order of the rector of the university, it was reorganized into the department of "Kazakh Language and Literature".

 Teaching staff

 The department employs 18 teachers, including 2 Doctors of Philology, 1 professor, 8 candidates of Philology, 8 senior teachers, 1 PhD and 3 masters. Among them are Ph.D., Professor Boranbaev S.R. (2009), Ph.D., Professor Tleuberdiev B.M. (2012), Ph.D., Associate Professor Omarov N.K. (2013) and Ph.D., Associate Professor A.O. Ybyrayim (2015) holder the title of "Best University teacher".

The scientific school of the famous scientist-laureate of the State Prize of the Republic of Kazakhstan, laureate of the prize "For Services to the Turkic world", Doctor of Philology, Professor M. Myrzakhmetov was established at the department. Representatives of this scientific school: A. Kalshabek and K.Orazbayev successfully work at the department.

Since the academic year 2020-2021, the department has been headed by PhD, Associate Professor Taspolatov Bakhyt Tokhpolatovich.

 Program

The department trains specialists of three levels: bachelor's degree – master's degree – doctoral degree, in accordance with the international standard of higher educational institutions and postgraduate education:

Currently, the department trains specialists in three specialties:

6B01710 "Kazakh language and literature" (4-year, bachelor's degree);

6B02310 "Philology: Kazakh language"(4-year, bachelor's degree);

6B02331"Foreign Philology: Uzbek language"(4-year, bachelor's degree).

Graduates are awarded the academic degree of a Bachelor of Philology in the specialty

 Direction of  Master's and doctoral studies

The Department of "Kazakh Language and Literature" of the Faculty of Philology of the M.Auezov UCU prepares undergraduates and doctoral students in the specialty 7M02310 – Philology and 8D02310 – Philology.The license of the educational program 8D020500 – "Philology" was obtained in 2010. 2011-2017, S. Meyirbekov studied in the specialty 8D020500 – "Philology".

                                       

In 2017, Aliya Smatova entered the doctoral program in the specialty 6D020500–Philology. The doctoral student is writing a dissertation on the topic: "Linguo-conceptological characteristics of Kazakh and English toponyms". The scientific supervisor of the doctoral student from Smatova Aliya is Doctor of Philology, Professor Tleuberdiev B.M.

 In 2018, he was admitted to the doctoral program in the specialty 6D020500 - "Philology" Kayimov Mukhamedzhan. The doctoral student wrote a dissertation on the topic "Creativity of Bukhar Zhyrau in the context of "Rukhani zhangyru" ("Creativity of Bukhar Zhyrau in the context of the "Spiritual revival" of the Kazakh people", "Bukhar Zhrau's composition about spiritual revival"). The scientific supervisor of the doctoral candidate is Doctor of Philology, Professor Myrzakhmetov M.M.

In 2020, 4 doctoral students entered the doctoral program in the specialty 8D020500 – "Philology". In 2021, 6 doctoral students were accepted to the doctoral program in the specialty 8D020500 - "Philology".

The modular educational program of the specialty 6D020500 – Philology is based on the current problems of modern Kazakh philology. Specialty 6D020500 – Philology "Scientific priorities in the second half of the XX – XIX centuries", "Linguistic aspects and new priorities", "Areal linguistics", "Cognitive semantics, "Comparative studies", "Academic oratory", "Theory of scientific discourse", "Methodology and methodology of linguistic research", "Modern linguistic research processes"

                                            

International relations

 Along with educational, educational and scientific work at the department, great importance is attached to international relations. In particular, they have concluded and closely cooperate in various fields with Lisbon Technical University (Portugal), Heinrich Heine (Germany, Dusseldorf), Tashkent State Pedagogical University (Uzbekistan) named after Nizami, Kyrgyz State (Kyrgyzstan) named after I. Arabaev, Tomsk Pedagogical University (Russia) universities, and Tashkent State Institute of Oriental Studies (Uzbekistan) has established relations.

 Educational work

Educational activities at the department are carried out in the areas of civil-patriotic, legal, spiritual and moral education and the formation of religious tolerance, the formation of a healthy lifestyle.

 

Also at the department there are circles"Syrly soz", "Til tagylymy". Members of the literary circle actively participate in the creative evenings of many poets and writers. The creativity of talented, poetry-loving students is constantly published on the pages of newspapers.

Pedagogical practice of students

Students of the specialty undergo professional practice in the best schools of the city with experienced teachers. Students, with the consent of subject teachers, will get acquainted with the calendar and thematic plan and the collection of textbooks in the school library. Students-interns, in order to exchange experience, attend each other's classes, analyze the results, and record them in special notebooks of lesson analyses. During the internship, students have the opportunity to get advice not only from the heads of the practice, but also from other teachers, analyze the lessons conducted with them. Get tips about.how to properly allocate time, how to use an interactive whiteboard, how to make a lesson plan, etc.

Our graduates

Graduates of our department work in all educational institutions, in television, radio, editorial offices, printing houses, work as literary editors of theater and actors.

Our graduates work in higher educational institutions and schools, preschool institutions of the republic, the Department of Education of the city of Shymkent, the Institute for Advanced Training of pedagogical workers of the NCPC "Orleu" in the South Kazakhstan region, on the TV channels "Astana", "Khabar" and in the regional periodicals "Ontustik Kazakhstan", "South Kazakhstan" and in "Kazakhstan-Shymkent", Successfully works in the TV and radio complexes "Aigak", as well as in many other collectives of the city of Shymkent.

In information and creative activities: essay, feuilleton, writer, publicist, secretary-referent, department head, public relations consultant, commentator, analyst-columnist, have the opportunity to work as a lawyer with a second education.

Student life

Students of the department actively participate in the scientific and social life of the department. The department has scientific circles, as well as the literary association "Syrlysoz","Til tagylymy". Students annually organize a student conference and a competition of scientific papers. The best scientific works are awarded with certificates and diplomas. The best scientific papers are sent to the Republican contest.

Students of the department are regularly engaged in research work. Under the guidance of teachers and scientific supervisors, students conduct in–depth research on topical issues of the Kazakh language and literature. They are doing their graduation (graduation) work. Students participate in National, regional and international conferences. The best scientific works of students were awarded with a certificate of commendation of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
