DEPARTMENT OF «JOURNALISM AND KAZAKH LANGUAGE»

The Department of «Journalism and the Kazakh Language» was established in 2003. In 2019, a new educational program was developed at the department and the specialty 6B03220-Journalism was opened. In 2023, the university released the first graduates of the educational program «Journalism». The number of graduates is 15, of which 3 graduates are holders of a diploma with honors. The department employs 14 teachers, including 6 candidates of sciences, associate professors, 3 masters, senior teachers, 5 masters, teachers. The head of the department is Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor Turabayeva Lyazzat Kalykulovna.
The teaching staff consists of 4 journalists with extensive practical experience in the media market.

      The Department maintains close ties with Lomonosov Moscow State University of the Russian Federation, Gazi University, Kastamonu of the Republic of Turkey, Tashkent Law University of the Republic of Uzbekistan. On the basis of a bilateral agreement, foreign professors are invited to the university, who exchange experience in conducting lectures and practical classes for students of the specialty «Journalism». Every year, together with foreign partners, Winter and Summer schools, online conferences courses are organized on various topics, master classes are held, online for students of various foreign universities.
    The department also maintains cooperation with leading local universities, in particular, with Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, L. N. Gumilev ENU. The teaching staff of the department takes advanced training courses at these universities and jointly conducts training seminars and conferences with them in order to develop a new media space of the journalistic profession.

TV studio «Auezov TV»

Students of the educational program «Journalism» in the TV studio of the University
«Auezov TV» conduct various programs in order to improve their knowledge and journalistic skills. The news series is broadcast 2 times a week, in addition, there are programs «IQ», «Personality. Cognition. Intellect», «Direct dialogue» of socio-political, cultural, educational, intellectual. creative orientation. Young correspondents interview guests invited to the TV studio live.
