My destiny is my reward
Our French language club, organised on the basis of the Department of Modern Languages and Translation Studies from among the most motivated students of the department, continues its work in the 2nd semester. Every Monday students of our department have the opportunity to attend a conversation club with a native speaker V. Gomariz in the French Alliance of Shymkent, where they get acquainted with the culture, history and life of France. For example, this time Victor told students about the peculiarities of French cuisine, popular French dishes, French food culture.
As we have planned, we actively participate in the events organised by the French Alliance of Shymkent. On 3 February there was a video conference with M. Artykbayeva on the theme: ‘Mon destin est ma récompense’ - ‘My destiny is my reward’. She is the current Director General of the France-Kazakhstan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, an honoured diplomat, a veteran of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, Knight of the Legion of Honour of France and of the Order of Kurmet. The students listened to her story about her life journey with genuine interest. Since childhood, Munira had set herself the goal of becoming at least the Prime Minister of our country. She was so captivated by this dream that she often dreamed about her future career. It was this dream that led her through life and she became the person she is today. At the end of her speech she emphasised that even though she did not become Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs, but she worked in this sphere for more than 30 years, took part in many international forums as a member of the Kazakh delegation together with N. Nazarbayev, with K.-J. Tokayev, met with the Presidents of France J. Chirac, N. Sarkozy, F. Hollande, E. Macron. Chirac, N. Sarkozy, F. Hollande, E. Macron. As acting Director General of France-Kazakhstan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, she attended the state reception held in honour of our delegation together with Tokayev, D. Kudaibergenov. She also advised our students to dream, set high standards for themselves and strive for the realisation of this dream. It may be hard work for the benefit of their homeland, themselves, but it is worth it. It is quite natural that this meeting was a great motivation for our students.
