Нistory of the department

The Department of "Kazakh language and Literature" is one of the fundamental departments of the M. Auezov educational institution. The department was founded in 1996, its history is closely connected with the South Kazakhstan Humanitarian University. The department was called "Oriental Philology and Kazakh Literature", since the department, along with the Kazakh language and literature, included Uzbek language and literature, as well as Arabic. In 1998, the Institute of Chemical Technology, together with the South Kazakhstan Humanitarian University, was transformed into the South Kazakhstan University named after M. Auezov. Since this year, the departments of "Kazakh Linguistics" and "Kazakh Literature" worked as separate departments until 2014. In 2014, in order to optimize the work of the departments of "Kazakh Linguistics" and "Kazakh Literature", by order of the rector of the university, it was reorganized into the department of "Kazakh Language and Literature".

The department employs 19 teachers: 2 doctors of philology, 1 Professor, 8 candidates of philological Sciences, 6 senior teachers, 2 PhD Doctors and 1 Master. The teaching staff of the department includes the winners of the "best university teacher"-doctor of philology, Associate Professor S. R. Boranbayev (2009), Doctor of philology, Professor B. M. Tleuberdiev (2012), candidate of philology, Associate Professor N. K. Omarov (2013) and candidate of philology, Associate Professor A. O. Abraham (2015).
In addition, the department has established a Scientific School of a well-known scientist, laureate of the State prize of the Republic of Kazakhstan, winner of the award "for merits to the Turkic world", doctor of philological sciences, professor M. Myrzakhmetuly. The representative of this scientific School, Ph. D., associate professor A. Kalshabek, successfully works in our department.
Since the 2020-2021 academic year, the department has been headed by Candidate of philological Sciences, Associate Professor Taspolatov Bakhyt Tokhpolatovich.
Currently, the department is working on the following topics:-21-01-11 actual problems of modern literary criticism and Linguistics".

On April 24, 2024, he took part in the International Scientific and practical conference "problems of teaching Uzbek as a state language and a foreign language in the era of digitalization: local and foreign experience", which was held at the State University of World Languages of Uzbekistan.In addition to educational, educational and scientific work, the department pays great attention to international communication. In particular, agreements have been concluded and close relations have been established in various fields with Lisbon technical (Portugal), Heinrich Heine (Germany, Dusseldorf), Tashkent State Pedagogical (Uzbekistan) named after Nizami, Kyrgyz state (Kyrgyzstan) named after I. PhD of the Department of Kazakh language and literature Tadzhiev Khamidulla Khabibullaevich as a result of the competition for grant funding for research of young scientists on the project "Young Scientist" in the Priority "Research in the field of social and humanitarian Sciences" won the grant of Tadzhiev Khamidulla Habibullaevich'S project AP14972895 "Golden Horde and Kazakh literature of the early twentieth century: spiritual harmony and continuation of traditions"!

The study of language policy and practice in the Turkestan region in the context of the tasks of language development of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The aim of the project: The aim of the project is to study the language policy and the language situation in various regions of the Turkestan region and to develop recommendations for optimizing the activities of local authorities in this area of activity.
Scientific novelty: The scientific novelty of the research proposed for this project during 2022-2024 is to identify the dependence of the success of the initiatives proposed by the authorities to introduce the Latin alphabet for the Kazakh script and increase the role of the Kazakh language in society not only on the socio-demographic characteristics of the region and the attitudes of the population, but also on the effectiveness of local state, educational and public organizations. An important factor is the study of the dynamics of changes in the rate of distribution and areas of use of languages.
Practical significance: The result of the study is supposed to identify the dominant types of perception of language policy at the local level of different population groups, depending on age, level of education, ethnicity, type of settlement.
Expected scientific and socio-economic effect: to determine the main approaches and strategic plans of local authorities, educational institutions and public organizations in the implementation of language policy in conditions of different socio-demographic characteristics of different districts of the region and megacities of the Republic.

Pedagogical practice of students

Students of the specialty undergo professional practice in the best schools of the city with experienced teachers. Students, with the consent of subject teachers, will get acquainted with the calendar and thematic plan and the collection of textbooks in the school library. Students-interns, in order to exchange experience, attend each other's classes, analyze the results, and record them in special notebooks of lesson analyses. During the internship, students have the opportunity to get advice not only from the heads of the practice, but also from other teachers, analyze the lessons conducted with them. Get tips about.how to properly allocate time, how to use an interactive whiteboard, how to make a lesson plan, etc.

Educational work of the Department

Educational activities are carried out in the direction of Civil, patriotic and legal, spiritual, moral, professional and labor education and the formation of religious tolerance, a healthy lifestyle.

There are also clubs "Syrly Soz", "til tagymy" created by the Department. Members of the literary circle organize creative evenings for many poets and writers. The work of talented, passionate students is constantly being published in newspapers.
