The Department of Modern Languages and Translation Studies was joined by Henry Samm, a representative of the government program Fulbright of the United States of America and an English Fellow. Within the framework of this curriculum, 18 hours of practical classes per week are organized for students in English, 1 hour of methodological classes for faculty, 1 hour of debates and a discussion club in the Ted Talks format, and the opportunity to actively participate in two-hour extracurricular activities during the academic year.
I'm Henry, a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant from Newtown, a small town of about 28,000 people close to New York City in the United States. I'm 25 years old and have studied in Washington, DC and St. Petersburg, Russia. Since graduating from university in 2018, I've lived in several countries, so I love to talk about travel! My hobbies include playing field hockey, doing yoga, collecting coins, and playing tabletop games. I'm looking forward to meeting you all! Speaking about a recent tourist trip, I want to say that living so close to a region as rich in culture as Turkestan means historical points of interest are always within reach. It was exciting to learn about famous people from Kazakhstan’s past by touring the mosques, mausoleums, and ancient ruins.
