Bachelors in EP "6B03202 - Journalism" can hold primary positions as a journalist, editor, radio and TV presenter, correspondent, reporter, press relations specialist, information analyst, specialist in media and communication of various industries and forms of ownership without qualifying work experience in accordance with the qualification requirements of the Qualification directory of positions of managers, specialists and other employees, approved by order of the Minister of Labor and Social Protection of Population Of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated May 21, 2012 No. 201-ө-m.
The sphere of professional activity of the EP is the field of mass media, Internet resources, information services and management, press services and centers, communication departments, related information and communication areas (PR services and management, publishing houses, advertising agencies, etc.);
The objects of professional activity of graduates of the specialty OP are mass media, domestic and foreign electronic and print media, news agencies and news services, publishing houses and printing complexes, press services of public organizations, structures and divisions for public relations, advertising agencies, network information structures .

Research work
The department conducts research on the topics of state budget research work and within the framework of grant financing of scientific and technical projects in order to integrate education and science. The results of scientific works of teachers of the department are published both in domestic and foreign scientific publications, as well as in journals included in the Scopus database. Teachers of the department take an active part in international conferences, republican, regional competitions and seminars held in the Republic of Kazakhstan and neighboring countries, make presentations at international, university, regional, and regional scientific conferences. Conducts methodological, research work in cooperation with educational institutions of Kazakhstan, Russia, the EAR, and China. As the holder of the state program scholarship, the teachers of the department study in the doctoral program (PHD) and improve their skills in the countries of the EAR, China.
Teachers of the department are scientific supervisors of research works of students, high school students. At the department, the scientific, creative work of students originates in the circle "Zhas talanttar", then scientific works are written, which are accompanied by victories in Olympiads. Students ' research works include topics of state budget research work, journalism, modern technologies of teaching the Kazakh language, linguistics, comparative historical, typological and comparative linguistics.
Educational work of the department
Educational activities are carried out in the civil, patriotic and legal, spiritual and moral, professional and labor areas, education and formation of religious tolerance, maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Teaching staff of the department regularly organize major scientific, methodological, practical and educational events in the region and at the university. The department actively participates in city and regional cultural events, competitions.
Student practice
The department has established close relations between employers and students studying in the specialty 6B03220 - "Journalism". Students practice in the editorial offices of the newspaper "Ontustik Kazakhstan", "Panorama of Shymkent", on the TV channels "Aigak", "Ontustik", "Otyrar". Many students of the department provide their services to these institutions.
The teaching staff of the department closely cooperates with the A. A. Baitursynov Institute of Linguistics of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Faculty of Philology, as well as the Faculty of Journalism of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, the regional Department for the Development of Languages, the city Center for the Study of the Kazakh language. Cooperation with the Institute of Linguistics of the Republic of Kazakhstan has been established in order to improve the skills of the teaching staff and train personnel.
International relations
The Department of "Journalism and the Kazakh Language" of the Faculty of Philology of the South Kazakhstan University named after M. Auezov maintains close contacts with higher educational institutions and scientists of foreign countries. It is planned to read an online lecture for students of our university by scientists of the Tashkent International Law University of Uzbekistan, PhD professor at Kastamonu University in Ankara, Turkey Hadji Ahmet Simsek.

The emphasis in the training of specialists for the media industry is made on the practical component, on interdisciplinary education, combining various areas of research — broadcasting, television, advertising and public relations.Considering the global trends in the rapid development of the media industry, the University of SKSU pays attention not only to editorial and journalistic training of specialists, but the competence of a university graduate of the specialty “6В03202 - Journalism” also includes possession of computer programs for media design, video editing, audio editing, directorial and camera skills. The combination of theoretical and practical training in general gives a model of a competent approach to training.The university provides the quality of the student’s creative activities, provides knowledge through teaching, research, creativity and services.
